KAILASA's Skanda Shashti 2026
Six Days of Subrahmanya's Victory — Enmity Transformed into Devotion
Skanda Shashti Begins In
Skanda Shashti is the six-day celebration of the life, glories, and victory of Subrahmanya — and of His manifestation as THE SUPREME PONTIFF OF HINDUISM BHAGAVAN SRI NITHYANANDA PARAMASHIVAM.

What is Skanda Shashti?

The Story of Skanda

THE SPH as Subrahmanya
ॐ
“Subramanya is completion of Sadashiva, in all His glory, in all His powers, in all His auspiciousness, in all His qualities, in all His compassion. Vedamata did not know how to sing the glory of Subramanya. She just chants three times: ‘Subramanyoham Subramanyoham Subramanyoham’ and bows down to Subramanya.”
— THE SPH BHAGAVAN SRI NITHYANANDA PARAMASHIVAM
ॐ
“Today, Skandha Sashti Mahothsava sixth day, when Subrahmanya transformed Shoorapadma into his vehicle and glory flag. In this Subrahmanya's Skandha Sashti is nothing but demonstration of the power of Advaitha. Mahadeva's Third Eye opens and Shoorapadma is destroyed. I don't want to use the word ‘killed’; because, Shoorapadma is divided into two, and one part becomes the peacock, and the other part becomes the flag, emblem of Subrahmanya. Even this is the expression of Advaitha.”

KAILASA's Skanda Shashti Celebrations Around the World
All of KAILASA's Temples celebrate Skanda Shashti with deep devotion; the biggest daily event of the festival is the darshan of Subrahmanya in extravagant colours and flower garlands.

Subrahmanya Shodashopachara, Vel & Yantra Puja
Every day from 10 to 15 November, Subrahmanya is worshipped in three forms at once — the deity through the sixteen upacharas, the Shakti Vel, and the Yantra: form, power, and presence.

Rudrabhishekam
The father is worshipped alongside the son: the Paramashiva Linga is bathed with sacred dravyas to the chanting of Sri Rudram and Chamakam, 10–14 November.

Subrahmanya & THE SPH Alankara
Each day the deities of THE SPH and Subrahmanya grace in vibrant leela alankaras, following the traditions of Tiruchendur, Tiruttani, and Nallur Kandaswamy, culminating in the Deeparathana.

Pratyaksha Pada Puja
The Lotus Feet of THE SPH are worshipped as the Feet of Subrahmanya — the commander who leads us through the inner battle against fear, doubt, and negativity.

Soorasamharam · 15 November, Adi Kailasa
On the sixth day, the Shashti, Subrahmanya overcomes Surapadman — not a killing but a transformation: one part becomes the peacock, the other the flag, emblem of Subrahmanya.

Devasena Kalyanam · 16 November, Adi Kailasa
After His victory, Subrahmanya weds Devasena, the daughter of Indra — a celestial wedding attended by the Devas and beings of every loka.

SPH Darshan
The festival is crowned with the darshan of THE SPH, the living Subrahmanya, who delivers us from fear and raises us as power manifestors.
