Daily Alankara Seva

Across all nine days, flowers, silks, precious jewels, and prescribed ornaments reveal a distinct form and mood of Parandhama, bringing devotees the particular blessings of each sacred alankara.

Daily Alankara Seva honours Bhagavan Sri Venkateshwara through a unique sacred adornment on each of the Brahmotsavam's nine days. Flowers, silks, precious jewels, and prescribed ornaments are composed into an alankara corresponding to the particular divine form and mood of Parandhama revealed that day.

The offering also adorns THE SUPREME PONTIFF OF HINDUISM BHAGAVAN SRI NITHYANANDA PARAMASHIVAM as the living manifestation of Bhagavan Sri Venkateshwara. As THE SPH graces in that day's deity bhava, devotees encounter the living transmission of its distinct cosmic dimension.

Significance

In Agamic worship, alankara is sacred service to the divine form, not decoration alone. Each prescribed combination of flowers, fabric, jewels, and ornaments expresses a specific form and mood of Parandhama. Across the festival, these changing adornments reveal the many cosmic dimensions of the one Bhagavan Sri Venkateshwara while maintaining the continuity of His presence.

The Vaikhanasa Agama governs how the deity is served, touched, and worshipped, while the Sri Vaishnava sampradaya enriches the sacred substances and ritual refinements. Daily Alankara therefore belongs to a living, unbroken current of worship. To offer it during Brahmotsavam is to honour the Lord's form within the most ancient, Vedically rooted stream of Vishnu temple worship.

At KAILASA's Temples Around the World, THE SPH graces in the bhava of the deity form expressed by each day's alankara. The eternal presence of Venkateshwara and His living manifestation are thus worshipped together, and the specific blessing of that day's cosmic form becomes accessible to devotees through sacred adornment and darshan.

The Ritual

On each of the nine festival days, the sacred form is elaborately adorned with flowers, silks, precious jewels, and the ornaments prescribed for that day's manifestation. The arrangement is made according to the specific form and bhava of Parandhama being honoured, so every element serves the day's revelation.

The alankara is offered to Bhagavan Sri Venkateshwara and equally to THE SPH as His living manifestation. Each day THE SPH graces devotees in the corresponding deity bhava, transmitting the particular blessings associated with that cosmic dimension throughout the full course of Brahmotsavam.
