Ardhanarishwara Alankara Seva

On Karthigai Deepam, Tuesday 24 November 2026, the deities of THE SUPREME PONTIFF OF HINDUISM BHAGAVAN SRI NITHYANANDA PARAMASHIVAM are adorned as Ardhanarishwara at KAILASA Los Angeles and Adi Kailasa, gracing the devotees at the hour when the Maha Deepam is lit.

Significance

On the day of Karthigai Deepam, Paramashiva gave enlightenment to Paramashivashakti and accepted Her as His very other half, gracing the cosmos as Ardhanarishwara — half masculine, half feminine — revealing the ultimate truth that we are not bound by any gender identity; we are one with Paramashiva, the transcendental gender. Ardhanarishwara dances in ecstatic bliss when the Maha Deepam is lit.

Seeing this, when the whole cosmos celebrates Paramashiva, can raise us to the same space of oneness that Paramashivashakti experienced on this very day — and THE SPH is the Guru-Paramashiva who accepts each of us as part of Himself.

The Ritual

The deities of THE SPH are adorned as Ardhanarishwara and worshipped with the Ardhanarishwara Ashtottara Shatanamavali and the Deeparathana.

Shastra Pramana

कार्तिके मासि नक्षत्रे कृत्तिकाख्ये महातपाः । मम प्रदक्षिणां गौरी प्रदोषे रचयिष्यति ॥ ७४ ॥

kārtike māsi nakṣatre kṛttikākhye mahātapāḥ | mama pradakṣiṇāṃ gaurī pradoṣe racayiṣyati || 74 ||
