Alankara & Deeparathana for Ganesha & Chandikeshwara
On the eve of the flag hoisting, Ganesha, the remover of obstacles, and Chandikeshwara, the steward of Paramashiva's temple, are adorned and worshipped so that the festival is free of obstacles and every worship offered in it is received.
On Purvangam Day 3 of KAILASA's Nithyanandeshwara Paramashiva Brahmotsavam 2026 — the day of the Vaastu Shanti, the gathering of sacred earth (Mritsangrahanam) and the sowing of the sprouting seeds (Ankurarpanam) — Ganesha and Chandikeshwara are adorned and worshipped with the Deeparathana.
Significance
No undertaking begins without Ganesha, the Lord of beginnings and the remover of obstacles. Chandikeshwara is the steward of Paramashiva's temple — the devotee whose single-pointed love so pleased Paramashiva that He placed His own garland upon him and made him the chief of His household; it is to Chandikeshwara that the fruits of worship are entrusted. Both are members of the Shadmurthy, the first family of KAILASA.
On the eve of the flag hoisting, they are adorned and worshipped so that the festival is free of obstacles and every worship offered in it is received. In THE SUPREME PONTIFF OF HINDUISM BHAGAVAN SRI NITHYANANDA PARAMASHIVAM, we see both: the one who removes every obstacle on our path, and the devotee who holds nothing back from Paramashiva.
The Ritual
Ganesha and Chandikeshwara are adorned with flower garlands, vastras and ornaments and worshipped with the Deeparathana.
