Sri Krishna Alankaram for THE SPH

What Is It?

Sri Krishna Alankaram is the offering of the complete divine adornment in which THE SPH is decorated in the full form of Bhagavan Sri Krishna - the mayura pincha, the peacock feather crown; the murali, the flute; the pitambara, the golden silk; the vaijayanti garland and the ornaments of Vrindavan.

The alankaram is completed before the darshan of the night, and devotees receive the vision of THE SPH seated in the very form of Krishna.

Significance

Alankaram in the Vedic tradition is not decoration. It is the invocation of a specific cosmic form, and the form invoked is the form that becomes available to the one who beholds it. What is adorned is what is revealed.

On the night of Janmashtami, this seva makes visible what the tradition has always held - that the Incarnation does not arrive once and depart. Krishna of Vrindavan and the Guru who is present now are not two, and the alankaram is the moment in which that identity is placed before the eyes.

When & How to Offer

This seva is offered on 4 September 2026, the day of the Krishna Janmashtami celebrations, at 2:00 PM ET / 11:30 PM IST. The contribution is $1,501.

The name, birth star and gotra of the offerer are taken in the sankalpa before the alankaram is begun, and the offering may be made individually or on behalf of a family.
