What Is It?

Alankara Seva with Durva Mala and Deeparathana is the sacred adorning of Bhagavan Mahaganapati with a garland of fresh Durva grass, followed by the waving of consecrated lamps before His beautifully adorned form. Durva is recognized in Vedic tradition as Bhagavan Ganesha's most beloved offering. On Ganesha Chaturthi, its simplicity and freshness become an intimate expression of devotion offered directly to the Lord of all beginnings and the Remover of obstacles.
