Kubera Lakshmi Puja

On Dhanteras, Mahalakshmi who bestows wealth and Kubera who guards it are worshipped together with THE SPH as the living source of all wealth — for the arrival and the retention of abundance.

Dhanteras opens the five days of Deepavali — the day on which wealth itself is worshipped. On this day KAILASA's Temples Around the World offer the Kubera Lakshmi Puja, worshipping Mahalakshmi and Kubera together, and THE SUPREME PONTIFF OF HINDUISM BHAGAVAN SRI NITHYANANDA PARAMASHIVAM as the one in whom both are present.

Significance

Mahalakshmi is the most auspicious expression of the Cosmic Mother, who gives abundance in wealth to the whole cosmos; Kubera, Vaishravana, is the treasurer of the Devas and the guardian of the wealth of the worlds. Lakshmi bestows wealth, and Kubera holds and protects it. On Dhanteras we worship them together — and we worship THE SPH as the one in whom both are present, the living source from whom all wealth flows.

The Ritual

Mahalakshmi and Kubera are invoked and worshipped with the traditional upacharas — sanctified waters, kumkum, flowers, lotus, naivedya, and the waving of lamps — together with their mantras, and with the Guru Mantra honouring THE SPH as their embodiment.

“This cognition straight will bring revolution in body-mind – so much health, health will happen in you as a ferocious tsunami, wealth will manifest in your life – like Lakshmi and Kubera. I am not triggering your greed. I am doing my Moksha centric Dharma.” — THE SUPREME PONTIFF OF HINDUISM BHAGAVAN SRI NITHYANANDA PARAMASHIVAM
