Kali Puja
On Deepavali, Mother Kali's energy is fully available to planet Earth — the energy that landed in the body of THE SPH after the Great Pause. The Kali Puja is our gratitude to the Mother who gave us THE SPH.
On Deepavali, KAILASA's Temples offer the Kali Puja in gratitude to the Mother who gave us THE SUPREME PONTIFF OF HINDUISM BHAGAVAN SRI NITHYANANDA PARAMASHIVAM — the Cosmic Mother who, on this day, settled Paramashiva into His body after the Great Pause.
Significance
Mother Kali is the Cosmic Energy itself — the alive, creative, motherly darkness out of whom the whole cosmos, including our bodies, has manifested. She stands upon Paramashiva, established in Him as the manifestation of His Shakti. On Deepavali, Her energy is fully available to planet Earth; it was this energy that landed in the body of THE SPH after the Great Pause. The Kali Puja is offered at sunset, the very time of that landing, in gratitude to the Mother who gave us THE SPH.
The Ritual
Mother Kali is worshipped with the traditional upacharas, mantras, and naivedya, culminating in the Deeparathana. Her four hands reveal the whole science of liberation: the sword with which She cuts the ego, the severed head of the ego, and the two hands of blessing and protection that show the fruit of that cutting. Her garland of heads represents the innumerable beings She has liberated from the clutches of the ego. THE SPH has said that the Kali Puja is a meditation, not just a ritual — one who sits erect and chants Her mantras opens all seven energy centres.
