Guru Mantra Samanvita Sri Suktha Homa

The Vedic hymn to Mahalakshmi offered into the sacred fire woven with the Guru Mantra — worshipping THE SPH as the embodiment of Mahalakshmi to invoke the eight forms of wealth.

On Dhanteras, the Sri Suktam — the Vedic hymn to Mahalakshmi — is offered into the sacred fire Guru Mantra Samanvita, woven together with the Guru Mantra, so that the homa becomes the worship of THE SUPREME PONTIFF OF HINDUISM BHAGAVAN SRI NITHYANANDA PARAMASHIVAM as the embodiment of Mahalakshmi.

Significance

The Sri Suktam is the Vedic hymn to Mahalakshmi, the condensed form of all eight Lakshmis — the very cognition of wealth consciousness and prosperity. When we connect with THE SPH as Mahalakshmi, we naturally manifest wealth consciousness and abundance in life.

The Ritual

Mahalakshmi is invoked in the sacred fire, and the verses of the Sri Suktam are chanted along with the Guru Mantra as oblations are offered — including lotus flowers soaked in cow's ghee, the offering the scriptures prescribe for the attainment of Shri. The rituals are offered from the space of Sohamasmi — recognising oneness with THE SPH — so that by embodying His essence, one embodies all the qualities of Mahalakshmi.
