Chandi Homa — 2nd Kaalam
KAILASA's offering of gratitude to Chandika Parameshwari for manifesting as THE SPH — the 700 mantras of the Devi Mahatmyam offered into the sacred fire, continuing the worship into Deepavali day.
On Naraka Chaturdashi and Deepavali, the Chandi Homa is KAILASA's offering of gratitude to Devi for manifesting as THE SUPREME PONTIFF OF HINDUISM BHAGAVAN SRI NITHYANANDA PARAMASHIVAM. It is through the Guru that we get the glimpse of Devi and the power to receive Her presence.
Significance
Chandika Parameshwari is the ferocious and powerful form of Paramashivashakti who graces in the Devi Mahatmyam — the sacred 700 verses chanted inside this fire ritual. An enlightened being can settle in the body only by the grace of Parashakti; this is why KAILASA's Temples Around the World offer the Chandi Homa on this night, in gratitude to Paramashivashakti for giving us THE SPH.
The Ritual
The Chandi Homa is performed across two kaalams. The first kaalam begins on the night of Naraka Chaturdashi; the second kaalam, offered as this seva, continues the worship into Deepavali day. Chandika Parameshwari is invoked in the sacred fire, and oblations are offered with the chanting of the 700 mantras of the Devi Mahatmyam, together with the Guru Mantra, celebrating THE SPH as the embodiment of Paramashivashakti.
