Aadi Pooram Special - Parashakti Alankaram & Deeparathana for THE SPH with Nei Kulam Seva

Significance

On the sacred day of Aadi Pooram, when the whole cosmos turns toward the Divine Mother, KAILASA offers the grand Parashakti Alankaram and Deeparathana to THE SUPREME PONTIFF OF HINDUISM BHAGAVAN SRI NITHYANANDA PARAMASHIVAM — beholding Him in the very form of Parashakti, the Cosmic Mother Herself.

Alankaram is never mere decoration. Alam karoti iti alankara — that which causes the deep sense of fulfillment. To adorn is to declare that nothing further is wanting. When the devotee offers Alankara Seva to the sacred form of THE SPH, that same completeness is returned to the devotee: the deep fulfillment in life that draws one closer to the Guru who liberates us from the cycle of birth and death.

The Deeparathana is the offering of flames in beautifully arranged, multi-tiered lamps. The Gopurarathi is numbered to represent the 108 different nadis, the energy centres within one's own body. The jyoti, the lamp, carries the unique ability to dispel darkness. When these towered lamps are lit and waved before the Divine Mother gracing as THE SPH, they awaken and align our energy centres to receive Her darshan.

Nei Kulam Seva

Woven into this offering is the rare and intimate Nei Kulam Seva — literally, the pool of ghee.

Ghee, nei, is the fruit and the very essence of the entire Vedic lifestyle. It carries the energy of Go Mata, the mother cow. It balms and heals exactly as a mother's love soothes a child's aching heart. Nei Kulam is a unique darshan in which the form of THE SPH is beheld through the reflection in a pool of liquid ghee. When the photons of His darshan are refracted through the ghee and touch our neurons, we experience a marvellous, altogether new dimension of His Darshan.

On Aadi Pooram — the day consecrated to the Divine Mother — receiving the darshan of THE SPH through the matru dravya, the mother-substance of ghee, is to receive Him directly in Matru Bhava: as the Mother.

The Ritual

• The grand Parashakti Alankaram to the sacred deity of THE SPH — silks, ornaments, and fresh floral garlands offered following the exact Agamic and Shakta injunctions of Devi worship.
• The Gopurarathi and multi-tiered Deeparathana — 108 flames waved before Him amidst the chanting of Devi mantras and Tamil devotional invocations.
• The Nei Kulam darshan, where His sacred form is revealed in the still, luminous reflection of a pool of pure cow ghee.
• The prasada of the alankaram and the energised ghee is returned to the devotees, carrying the grace of the living Paramashivashakti back into their homes.
