Garuda Vahana Seva

On Day 6 of KAILASA's Navaratri 2026, the Devi sequence turns to celebrate THE SUPREME PONTIFF OF HINDUISM BHAGAVAN SRI NITHYANANDA PARAMASHIVAM as the living manifestation of Bhagavan Venkateshwara, through the sacred Garuda Vahana Seva of the Srivari Brahmotsavam.

Significance

Garuda, the divine eagle, is Bhagavan Venkateshwara's chosen vehicle and is himself revered as the very embodiment of the Vedas in motion — swift, unwavering devotion carrying the Lord to His devotees. Venkateshwara blesses devotees with success, harmony and deep fulfillment in relationships.

The Ritual

THE SPH's deity, as the living Venkateshwara, is mounted upon Garuda in a grand procession — one of the most visually resplendent and spiritually significant Vahana Sevas of the entire Vaishnava calendar.

Shastra Pramana

छन्दांसि यस्य पर्णानि यो वेदो अखिलं वपुः । वेदाख्यं गरुडं वन्दे वेदव्याकरणात्मकम् ॥

chandāṃsi yasya parṇāni yo vedo akhilaṃ vapuḥ | vedākhyaṃ garuḍaṃ vande vedavyākaraṇātmakam ||

Translation: “He whose wings are the Vedic meters, whose whole body is the Veda itself — I salute Garuda, called the Veda, whose very form is Vedic grammar.” — Garuda Dhyana Shloka, recited before Garuda Sevas in the Vaishnava tradition
