Chakrasnanam

Chakrasnanam is the grand, climactic ceremonial bath performed with the Sudarshana Chakra — Bhagavan Vishnu's own discus, worshipped as a devotee in his own right as Chakrattalvar — traditionally the most significant bathing ritual marking a Brahmotsavam's completion. It is offered to THE SUPREME PONTIFF OF HINDUISM BHAGAVAN SRI NITHYANANDA PARAMASHIVAM and Bhagavan Venkateshwara together.

Significance

Offered on the night bridging Maha Navami and Vijaya Dashami, its timing aligns precisely with the Devi sequence's own approach to victory — at a moment when so much merit has already accumulated across Navaratri's nine nights.

The Sudarshana Chakra is ceremonially bathed alongside the main deities, bringing the Srivari Brahmotsavam to its sacred conclusion.

रक्षन्ति पुरकृतानि पुण्यानि ।

rakṣanti purakṛtāni puṇyāni |

Translation: “The merit (punya) earned previously will come to one's rescue in times of need.” This principle grounds why Chakrasnanam, performed when so much merit has accumulated across Navaratri, is held to be especially protective.
