Ayudha Puja

Ayudha Puja is the worship of one's own tools, instruments and means of livelihood, consecrating them as extensions of Devi's own creative Shakti rather than merely functional objects. It is offered on Day 9 of KAILASA's Navaratri 2026 under the guidance of THE SUPREME PONTIFF OF HINDUISM BHAGAVAN SRI NITHYANANDA PARAMASHIVAM.

Significance

On the ninth day, Saraswati's knowledge and Durga's power converge. Ayudha Puja completes a devotee's inner sadhana by extending it outward into ordinary working life — exactly as THE SPH instructs: wealth for the freedom to pursue enlightenment, work as an extension of the sadhana just completed.

The Ritual

Devotees bring vehicles, books, computers, musical instruments and kitchen implements before the deity for worship, echoing the Pandavas, who are remembered to have worshipped their weapons on this day before recovering them from the Shami tree at the end of their exile.

Shastra Pramana

The tradition draws its scriptural ground from the Mahabharata's account of the Pandavas retrieving and worshipping their weapons from the Shami tree at the close of their year of exile, before the Kurukshetra war — the origin of worshipping one's own instruments of livelihood on this day.
