Pashupata Astra Homa is a sacred fire sacrifice invoking the ultimate weapon of Paramashiva, the Pashupatastra. This homa is performed to neutralize highly weaponized negative thought currents, psychic attacks, and deep-seated mental blockages. In the path of Guru Bhakti, the Pashupata Astra Homa acts as a divine sword, cutting through the thick ropes of attachment and delusion that keep the soul bound to the cycle of birth and death.
On the day of the Adi Peetha Sarvajnapeetha — the seat of Shakta worship rooted in the Kolada Matha, where the Divine Feminine and the Bhairagi warrior-ascetic tradition meet — the Pashupata Astra Homa channels the fierce, protective dimension of Paramashiva's grace into the world. The intense heat of the fire symbolizes the burning away of the disciple's past-life karmic residue, allowing them to manifest the state of pure freedom.
The Ritual
The homa is conducted under strict Agamic injunctions in a highly energized Yagnashala. The priests chant the powerful Pashupata Astra Mantra, offering various oblations into the Agni Kunda. Translation: O lovely-faced one (Parvati), listen to My words and believe, for this Truth is rare and unknown to anyone else in the three worlds. Guru is Brahman and no one other than Brahman Itself. This is the Truth.

The Sacred Story
To obtain the Pashupatastra for the Mahabharata war, Arjuna performed severe austerities to Paramashiva. Paramashiva decided to test Arjuna's focus and appeared as a wild hunter (Kirata). A battle ensued over a wild boar, and Arjuna, recognizing the hunter was no ordinary mortal, offered a flower garland to a clay Paramashiva Linga. The garland immediately appeared around the hunter's neck. Recognizing Paramashiva, Arjuna surrendered completely. Paramashiva blessed him with the Pashupatastra, showing that the ultimate spiritual weapon is only attained through absolute surrender to the Guru.
