Significance

The KAILASA Paramparagatha Surya Vamsha Chola Samrajya Sarvajnapeetha, rooted in Thanjavur — the Tanjavur Aadheenam, the Palswamy Mutt — is one of the most sacred spiritual and administrative seats of the Chola lineage. The sacred Palswamy Mutt and Sri Shankarasamy Mutt form the ruling seat, established by the great sage Palaya Jnanadesikar Swamigal, where a Shiva Linga was installed by Rajaraja Chola, uniting governance with divine consciousness — a seat that predates even the famed Brihadeeswara Temple. Tanjavur is the city of the Brihadeeswara Temple, built by King Rajaraja Cholan, the 219th ruler in the Surya Vamsha lineage, which stands to this day as one of the most magnificent Agamic temples on Earth.

On this sacred day, THE SUPREME PONTIFF OF HINDUISM BHAGAVAN SRI NITHYANANDA PARAMASHIVAM graces as the great Emperor Rajaraja Chola, embodying the glory, strength, and dharmic rulership of the Surya Vamsha Chola Samrajya. Rajaraja Chola stands as one of the greatest emperors in Sanatana Hindu history — an embodiment of visionary leadership, temple-building excellence, and unwavering devotion to Paramashiva, where spirituality and administration functioned as one integrated reality. In 2014, Swami Atmanandaji recognized the urgent need to revive the ancient kingdom and coronated THE SPH as the successor, offering both ruling seats of Palswamy Mutt and Shankara Mutt.

Through this revival, daily rituals to ancient deities were reestablished, anna daan was revived, and the science of Living Enlightenment was propagated — making the Chola Samrajya once again radiate its dharmic power. As the direct descendant of the Great Chola Kings and the living incarnation of Paramashiva, THE SPH resumes the role of supreme spiritual and temporal head that the Chola kings themselves always recognized as belonging to Paramashiva.

Vastra (Clothing): rich royal silks in green and gold, embodying Surya Vamsha energy, power, and sovereignty. Jewelry & Adornments: grand Chola-style gold ornaments, heavy harams and chest plates representing imperial authority, armlets, anklets, and bracelets denoting strength, and a crown (kiritam) symbolizing divine kingship. Alankara Elements: a royal posture expressing command and stability, a sword or symbolic gesture representing dharmic protection, and vibhuti markings reflecting deep Shaiva devotion. Maalas (Garlands): grand, vibrant garlands representing victory and expansion.

This darshan evokes divine kingship, expansion, responsibility, and devotion with power.
