Jeevan Mukti Vratham 2026 — 21 Days to Living Liberation
Jeevan Mukti Vratham is an 21-day sacred observance instituted by THE SUPREME PONTIFF OF HINDUISM BHAGAVAN SRI NITHYANANDA PARAMASHIVAM as a complete preparation of body, mind, and spirit to receive the full grace of Guru Purnima and the transformative power of the Nithyananda Homa.
9 July – 29 July 2026 — concluding on the auspicious day of Guru Purnima.
What is Jeevan Mukti Vratham
The Sanskrit compound Jeevanmukthi — jeevan, the life of an individual, and mukti, liberation — declares the supreme truth that liberation is not deferred to death but is available now, in the living body, in this very lifetime. This is not an aspiration; it is a recognition of what is already true. The Vratham is the decision to live that recognition every single day for twenty-one days, aligning the body with the Guru's guidance and the mind with the cognition: I am Nithyananda — I am eternally, truly blissful.
THE SPH has declared from His own experience that Jeevanmukti is not the fruit of centuries of accumulating merit, but the natural consequence of one sincere alignment with the living Guru's will. This Vratham is that alignment made concrete, embodied in nine daily practices that rewire the practitioner from the inside out. Every practice is a movement — as THE SPH has declared — "whether it is an inch or a mile, move towards SHIVOHAM."
The Sacred Context — Why Now
Guru Purnima falls in the auspicious month of Ashadha, the very month Vyasa codified the Vedas and when the Guru-Shishya transmission is cosmically amplified. The Jeevan Mukti Vratham is specifically designed to open the disciple to this amplification — to make the practitioner a fit vessel for what THE SPH intends to transmit. The Vratham begins before the culminating Guru Purnima celebration and ends at the Guru Purnima event itself, with the Guru Mudi Offering. The practitioner who completes all twenty-one days arrives at Guru Purnima not as an audience member but as a consecrated instrument.

- Tie it securely with a simple knot, ensuring it sits comfortably on your wrist.
The Four Alignments of Guru Bhakti
On Guru Purnima 2015, THE SPH revealed that authentic Guru Bhakti is not merely the placing of flowers at the Guru's feet, but the complete alignment of four dimensions of the relationship between disciple and Guru: the disciple's own inner image ("the inner image I expect from you is Shivoham"); the disciple's outer image; the Guru's Anyakaara — the cosmic vision the Guru holds for the disciple; and the disciple's own Anyakaara toward the Guru and the Sangha. THE SPH instructed: "Align all four to their highest possibility — that is Guru Bhakti."
The Nine Daily Practices
The Vratham begins on its first morning with two foundational acts: tying the Kaapu — the sacred protective thread — on the right wrist for males and the left for females, and the first preparation of the Gurumudi, the sacred offering bundle built up over all eleven days. These declare: I am under the protection of the Guru, and I am building toward an offering of everything I am.
- Pancha Kriya (4:00–4:30 AM) — the five-part cleansing of the physical body, the foundation of all Agamic purification.
- Nithyananda Yoga Sakala Vinyasa Krama — the complete 1008-asana sequence aligning the geometry of the body with the geometry of the cosmos.
- Guru Puja — daily worship to Paramashiva and our beloved Guru, THE SUPREME PONTIFF OF HINDUISM BHAGAVAN SRI NITHYANANDA PARAMASHIVAM.
- Mahavakya Chanting — 108 recitations of the sacred Mahavakya, installing the cognition I am Paramashiva.
- Happiness in Every Step Satsang — Daily attending the Darshans & Satsangs to imbibe powerful cognitions into your daily life.
- Daily Enriching — sharing THE SPH's teachings and the reality of KAILASA with at least one person each day.
- Sattvic Lifestyle — wearing loose white clothing and a pure vegetarian diet free of meat, eggs, fish, mushrooms, onion, garlic, and green chilli.
- Herbal Detoxification — neem juice in the morning and Haritaki powder at night.
- Preparing the Gurumudi — Prepare the sacred offering of Gurumudi, to offer your Karmas and ego at the divine lotus feet of THE SUPREME PONTIFF OF HINDUISM BHAGAVAN SRI NITHYANANDA PARAMASHIVAM
The Gurumudi — Building the Sacred Offering
The Gurumudi is the devotional heart of the Vratham. To prepare it, the disciple places a white square cloth flat, places a coconut on the left and three handfuls of rice on the right, and ties them as separate bundles within the same cloth. On the day of Guru Purnima one must prepare the Gurumudi. As a part of the Guru Purnima celebrations, the Gurumudi is offered at THE SPH's sacred feet with an Arathi, and the disciple receives it back as the Guru's prasad — the offering transformed into blessing. It is an act of Sarvaparityaga — complete renunciation.
All disciples must offer the Gurumudi at the feet of THE SUPREME PONTIFF OF HINDUISM BHAGAVAN SRI NITHYANANDA PARAMASHIVAM before the Guru Purnima Satsang on the day of Guru Purnima (29th July 2026 10:30 AM ET | 29th July 2026 08:00 PM IST).

THE SPH's Divine Promise
Anyone who takes responsibility to align themselves to My anyakaara, I commit with you: you experiencing Shivoham is My responsibility. As Sadashiva. I give you the boon of Living Shivoham. When Guru ordains, He sustains. I never ordained anything which I cannot sustain.
— THE SPH BHAGAVAN SRI NITHYANANDA PARAMASHIVAM (Guru Purnima Satsang, July 31, 2015)
Shastra Pramana — Sri Guru Gita
gururbrahmā gururviṣṇuḥ gururdevo maheśvaraḥ | guruḥ sākṣāt paraṃ brahma tasmai śrīgurave namaḥ ||
Translation: The Guru is Brahma, the Guru is Vishnu, the Guru is the great Paramashiva. The Guru is verily the Supreme Brahman Itself — to that sacred Guru, I offer my salutations.
