About the Competition

A first-of-its-kind opportunity for participants worldwide to perform and participate in traditional, Authentic Yoga as per the ancient enlightened Vedic and Hindu civilizations' scriptures.

Showcase your skill, knowledge, and dedication to the science of Yoga. Top 3 winners in each category receive award certificates, and all participants receive the Living Enlightenment e-book and Nithyananda Yoga e-book.

Nithyananda Yoga is the Revival of THE Original Yoga

Video Submission Guidelines

HD Camera Required

Use an HD camera (webcam or smartphone). Blurry videos will not be accepted.

Full Body Visibility

Position the camera directly in front of you. Your full body and face must be clearly visible throughout.

Proper Lighting

Ensure your room is well-lit. Poor visibility will not be accepted.

Traditional Yoga Attire

Wear traditional yoga attire. Yoga mat is permitted; no other equipment or assistive devices allowed.

Assessment Criteria

Technique

Accuracy and form in performing each asana.

Stability & Strength

Steadiness and muscular control through each hold.

Grace

Fluidity, poise, and gracefulness in transitions and posture.

Flexibility

Range of motion and flexibility expressed in the asana.

Difficulty Level

Complexity and refinement of the asana attempted.

Awards

Top 3 per category receive certificates. All participants get e-books.

General Competition Rules

  1. Participants under 18 require parent/guardian registration. The parent or guardian must be 18 or older.
  2. Traditional yoga attire is required. A demonstration video is available below.
  3. A yoga mat is permitted. No other equipment or assistive devices are allowed.
  4. Videos must be uploaded to social media using the hashtags: #nithyananda #kailasa #nithyanandayoga #yogaday #YogaDay2026 #yogadaycelebration.
  5. Submission link must be submitted via the registration form below or at ecitizen.info/yoga2026.
  6. All technical issues are handled by the KAILASA Events team and Yoga Acharyas.

Who can participate?
Anyone aged 7 or above. Participants 18+ choose from Categories A, B, or C based on skill level. Children aged 7–18 enter Category D. Participants under 18 require parent/guardian registration.
How do I submit my video?
Record an HD video performing 3 of the 5 asanas in your category, each held for at least 15 seconds. Upload the video to social media with the official hashtags, then submit your video link via the registration form on this page.
What is the submission deadline?
All video submissions must be received by 19 June 2026. Results will be announced on 21 June 2026: International Yoga Day.
What attire is required?
Traditional yoga attire is required. A demonstration video showing how to wear traditional yoga attire is available in the Additional Resources section.
Can I use a yoga mat or other equipment?
A yoga mat is permitted. No other equipment or assistive devices are allowed during the performance.
How are the videos judged?
Videos are evaluated on five criteria: Technique, Stability and Strength, Grace, Flexibility, and Difficulty Level of the asana attempted.
What do winners receive?
The top 3 participants in each category receive award certificates. All participants receive the Living Enlightenment e-book and the Nithyananda Yoga e-book.
